Yes. Although we are not an insurance provider, we do have options available to help small employers become self-insured, while mitigating risk.

The difference between the two insurance models lies in who pays the bills. Employers who are fully-insured have all of their claims paid by a traditional insurance carrier (ie, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, etc), and pay a flat-rate premium. Employers who are self-insured pay all claims, via a third party administrator (TPA) While the potential risk of being self-insured can be higher, the opportunity for savings is also greater.
